Sacrament of Reconciliation
Saturdays of Advent and Lent 12.00-12.30pm and also any time on request
By arrangement with the Parish Priest. Would parents please personally contact Fr. Peter at a weekend Mass - not by telephone. We usually run a Preparation Course through Jane Gilbertson our Catechist.
Baptisms are on the first SATURDAY of the month at 2.00pm
If for some reason you wish to have your child baptised here, you must obtain a written permission from your own Parish Priest first and bring the letter to Fr. Peter.
NO BAPTISMS DURING AUGUST
Confirmation & First Holy Communion
(Eucharist)
The Parish follows the Archdiocesan Scheme with monthly meetings for parents and children. The dates for the whole Scheme are given out through Jane Gilbertson our Catechist at the start of each Year. The children make their First Confession in Advent, and will receive the sacrament again during Lent and before their First Holy Communion.
This should be received by any Catholic who has a serious illness, or who is facing serious surgery, or is seriously weakened by age or illness. One does not need to be at death's door to receive the Sacrament of the Sick. Often the sacrament brings about an improvement, not only in the recipient's spiritual and mental condition, but also physically, enabling them to benefit from the medical care they are receiving.
Your Undertaker will contact Fr. Peter to make arrangements for a Funeral Mass or Service, as you wish, followed by committal at a graveyard or crematorium. Eulogies should be delivered either at the graveside or crematorium or at the “Wake” but will not be allowed in church.
